A few of my favorite things for today (yoga and all things between)

by darla on July 6, 2009

One of my favorite personal productivity and “art of living” sites on the web is Leo Babauta’s “Zen Habits”. Today, I’m mentioning this because he has a wonderful post entitled, “Love Life, Not Stuff” (link to Love Life, Not Stuff here) wherein he gives pointers on how to create a “lust for life instead of lusting after stuff“. As yogis wanting to simplify and appreciate life’s moments, I think this article is a good reminder of how a simple new behavior can lead us down an entirely new path and appreciation for life.

Over at “Door Sixteen”, Anna shares an adorable picture of her puppies, which you’ll definitely want to take a peek at if you want a quick smile. I’ve been out of town for a few days and I can’t wait to return home to Maggy our Goldendoodle and her unconditional love and devotion. (Yah I miss our cats, too, but they probably didn’t even notice I was gone.)

My new favorite blog is by my friend and local artist–who has a wonderful eye for interesting and eclectic things–Susan Fama, and you can check out her blog entitled “i before e” over at susan-fama.blogspot.com. She does wonderful paintings and also collects and sales interesting vintage prints and originals. Her blog reviews films, books, and gives her view on all things Americana, crafty as well as random historical bits of interest. You should definitely check her out regularly as she has a very unique eye and insight on the world.

Over at Always Flowers, by budding photographer, yogi, energy healer (and in full disclosure, my sister) LeAnn Brown, today she talks about the meaning of the word Namaste including her own evolution and understanding of its usage. Great blog to check out from time to time for random bits of wisdom, new perspectives, and spiritual insights. She’s also a very experienced interior designer and Feng Shui consultant; I just call her my own personal Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy this collection of a few of my very favorite things. Check back soon. Always more to learn and share with each other. Namaste!
