Every once in a while we run across links related to yoga, meditation, or personal growth and spirituality that we feel like sharing. It may be a news article, an inspiration, a tip or new product; and sometimes it’s just something mildly interesting or amusing. Since our name is SHARE yoga, we always aim to share these worthy items with you. Get it?
Here are a few yoga links worth sharing today:
- UCLA Researcher David Shapiro tells us what we already knew, but are glad to hear again that “yoga relieves stress and benefits the heart”. Reporter Alexandra Matthieu shares, “Shapiro’s research delves into the relationship between mood changes and depression in yoga participants. He said yoga encourages people to come together and interact, allowing the heart to find physical and emotional happiness while they engage in yoga activities.” Source: Daily Bruin
- Buddhist magazine, Shamhala Sun posts a wonderful article explaining “Buddhism and Yoga: Where the Paths Cross”. In this Shambhala Sun feature, Phillip Moffitt, Anna Douglas, Stephen Cope, and Sarah Powers — all of whom practice both yoga and Buddhism —discuss how the two can work together. They expound on the related concepts between yoga and Buddhism of mindfulness, awareness, and meditation, but they also discuss some of the important differences. - We now carry the new and improved Manduka eQua towels in our yoga store. They are a bit hidden in the Yoga Props & Fun Stuff section of our store, so here’s a direct link to the product page. They come in very cool colors — I love the Glacier color with orange trim (Glacier = light, ice blue, see pic above). Check out the eQua towels here. And because we SOOOO want you to have one of these, use this special code to get FREE SHIPPING on your eQua Towel Order: EQUA-SHIP1.
