First of all, thank you all for participating and making this contest so much fun. I loved reading the back and forth as ideas were brainstormed and shared. I noticed a trend in the postings: creating a yoga poses evokes objects of love and safety. That says a lot about the comfort that yoga provides us all.
And the winner of the Manduka eQua Yoga Towel is….
[Insert Drum Roll Please]
Roberta Boyle for Child’s Hug Asvatasana:
Child’s Hug Asvatasana. Sit down, legs crossed, back straight! Small child sitting in between legs. Squeeze your baby with a big hug. Breathe!
Thank you Roberta for inspiring so many of us to take a breather and appreciate the ones we love. I will be contacting you shortly to find out your favorite color.
Honorable Mention: Jason Silver for urdhva dogurasana, also known as upward bowwow pose:
urdhva dogurasana, aka upward bowwow pose: Lie on your back, with a small dog near your feet. Bend your knees, bringing the soles of your feet parallel to the mat with heels close to the sitting bones. Bend the elbows, bringing the palms of your hands underneath the shoulders. Fingertips should be pointing at your canine companion. With an inhale, push down on your palms and lift your hips off the floor; the crown of your head comes to the mat. Straighten the arms, and lift the head off the floor. Being certain that the legs are parallel, whistle to your dog. Have him or her climb up one of your legs, eventually reaching your chest. The pose is complete once your furry friend has made himself comfortable in a seated position. Coming down from the pose…well, that’s another matter!
Now, that’s one obedient dog! Jason will also receive his choice of Manduka eQua Yoga Towel. (I know, I know, but I just can’t help myself. I’m feeling very generous today.)
P.S. You can purchase your own Manduka eQua Yoga Towel in our Yoga Boutique for just $40 plus shipping and handling.
