Yoga Journal (online and print edition) has been an excellent resource to inform my practice for many years. One of its most useful tools, in my opinion, is its
online yoga pose finder where you can find almost any yoga pose, its variations, a step-by-step guide to each pose, as well as contra-poses. For those of you with specific ailments or areas you’d like to focus on, they also include specific therapeutic applications for the pose as well as its anatomical focus.
Sometimes when I practice yoga my wrists tend to ache because I work on the computer so much. As a result, I can’t remain in downward-facing dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) pose for as long as I’d like to. The Yoga Journal pose finder site offers alternatives to downward-facing dog like dolphin pose. In dolphin pose, the emphasis is on the forearms, rather than the wrists (see picture). Dolphin pose is actually a bit more difficult (for me, at least) to hold, but it definitely helps alleviate the pressure on my wrists.

Excellent!
Thank you so much. I also have problems holding downward dog because of overused wrists. This is great advice.
