Today marks the 140th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Perhaps this weekend is a good time to revisit one of Gandhi’s biographies. I especially enjoyed “Gandhi The Man” by Eknath Easwaran, which details his earlier years as a shy young man.
Today, President Obama paid tribute to Gandhi saying: “The America of today has its roots in the India of Mahatma Gandhi and the nonviolent social action movement for Indian independence which he led. We must renew our commitment to live his ideals and to celebrate the dignity of all human beings.”
An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind. ~Gandhi
